You smell good to eat.

Today in Nursery we have been busy making gingerbread people. We found out how to make them by reading the recipe and looking on the computer. We were very careful to stay safe when we put them in the hot oven. We have met them safe so that they can’t run out of the door or window. They smell delicious. We can’t wait to eat them.

Ask the children to tell you how they made them at home.

Chinese celebrations

Today in nursery we are celebrating Chinese New Year. The children have been learning about the luck colour red. The dragon brining good luck. We have also been tasting Chinese food.

Chinese people decorate their houses with lanterns and good luck poems. They have new clothes and get money in red envelopes. They celebrate with fire crackers and Chinese dragon dance and eat special food.

Talk about how you celebrate at home.

Who’s been eating my porridge?

Today in nursery we have been making porridge but it was too hot so we went for a walk to the woods. When we got back to the classroom somebody had eaten Baby bears porridge, someone had pushed the chair over and someone was sleeping in baby bears bed! It was Goldilocks.

There was still enough porridge for us to eat and it was just right.

Talk about who was in the story, Where does Goldilocks go? What does Goldilocks do?

Happy new year

Happy new year lovely to see everyone back in Nursery. We are excited to see the three Bears have moved in over the holiday. The children are enjoying acting out the story in the book are and role play area. We even have porridge out with three different size spoons and bowls. The children have been making beds for the. Ears and counting them carefully.

We will be sending the story and story map home next week so you can retell it at home.
