Thursday’s Superstars

Story Time

The children have enjoyed listening to our story of the week again today and they spent some time answering some questions about the story.

All things natural

For the talking activity today the children had some fun finding different natural objects in their gardens. They then used their creative skills and made different types of minibeasts. They look fantastic well done Nursery.

Speckled frogs on the log.

All about numbers

Today for our number activity we are going to look at representing number again with pictures.

Linking this to our theme Oi Frog , we would like you to use your number cards you have and select a number card and draw that many frogs on the log.

You will need some paper, felt tips and numbers cards for this activity.

I have chosen the number 5.

I have now chosen the number 8.

Remember to count your frogs on you log to check if you have the correct amount.

Send in your work to – contactnursery@holbrook.coventry.sch.uk

Ready to read

Enjoy listening to Oi Frog again. Listen carefully because you will need to answer some questions about the story afterwards.

Who told the frog to sit on the log?

Why doesn’t the frog want to sit on the log?

Why can’t the frog sit on a chair?

Who sits on sofas?

What do parrots sit on?

Who sits on boxes?

Where do rats sit?

Who sits on cakes?

What do dogs sit on?

What would you like to sit on?

Lovely listening. Well done.

Let’s talk

Over the last few week we have been learning about minibeasts.

Here is a video to remind you of different minibeasts.

Can you find natural things in your garden to make some of your favourite minibeasts. Here are some of mine.

Have fun and send your photos to ContactNursery@holbrookprimary.sch.uk

Wonderful Wednesday

Today the children have been busy making fruit frogs. We hope you enjoyed eating them.

Making jumping frogs

The children were having fun making the coins jump like a frog using their pinchy pinchy fingers.

5 Speckled Frogs

Today for number the children had to get creative and make 5 speckled frogs on a log and sang along whilst taking 1 away each time.

We have a birthday in Nursery today!

Happy Birthday to you! Lots of love from all of Nursery x

Thank you for sharing your work with us today and we will see tomorrow.

All about numbers

Today for our number activity we are going to use a familiar number song for our learning.

For this activity you will need to get creative as we are going to make 5 frogs and a log. You can also make the pool too (it is totally up to you.) You may just want to use your imagination for the pool.

Here is what you will need for this activity:

Now you can make your 5 frogs.

Next its time to make your log.

Now you have your 5 frogs and your log, we are going to sing the song you practised before you got creative (5 little speckled frogs.)
Remember you can make your own pool or use your imagination.

5 little speckled frogs, sat on a speckled log eating so most Delicious bugs, yum yum!

1 jumped into the pool where is was nice a cool, now there are….

This song helps the children with their taking away skills within counting. Send in your pictures boys and girls, we can not wait to see your speckled frogs – contactnursery@holbrook.coventry.sch.uk
