Today we are learning about how to brush our teeth.

You need to brush for two minutes.
Put a pea size tooth paste on your tooth brush.
Brush the bottom teeth from side to side, round and round, all the way to the back.
Don’t forget to brush behind them.
Brush again this time the top teeth from side to side, round and round, all the way to the back.
Don’t forget to brush behind them.
Can you tell someone in your family how to brush your teeth?
Enjoy this song it will help you remember.
Joe Wicks has been brilliant so far as he gets us motivated and willing to start the day.
Have a go and remember stay active and healthy.
Some of our children have been working incredibly hard today. Thank you for sending us your pictures. We are so proud of how hard you are trying with the activities.
It’s great to see children are still getting their daily exercise even if the weather is not quite as pleasant as last week. Well done for trying the physical activity today. How many goals did everyone manage to get?

Great skills with the ball.

Normally in nursery we have leap into books where we share our great learning BUT there is no one in school! So we need a virtual assembly!
Today’s number activity is all about teeth. The task is for your child to put the correct amount of teeth into the mouth and to match the number you give them.
You will need to draw five mouth shapes, just a rough outline is fine. Next write out numbers 1 to 10 on some paper and cut up the numbers so that you can create an additional challenge for your child to complete.

Work with numbers 1 to 5 first and then if your child is confident, switch the numbers on the mouths from 6 to 10. Ask your child to put the teeth into the mouths, out of number sequence to make it more challenging e.g. 3, 5, 1, 2, 4.
You will need to find something to use as teeth. You could cut some out of paper, use small stones, or use cotton wool pads like I did.

Ask your child questions such as:
Can you read this number?
What does this number say?
Can you put four teeth in the mouth?
How many teeth have you put at the bottom of the mouth?
How many teeth have you put at the top of the mouth?
Which has more teeth, the bottom or the top set?
Which has less teeth, the top or the bottom set?
Do both sets of teeth have the same number or are they different?
Please keep sending us your fantastic pictures to:

Today we are going to listen for the rhyming words in the nursery rhyme, Hickory Dickory Dock.
Did you hear:-
dock clock
two flew
three dee
four door
five hive
six sticks
Can you think of any more words that rhyme with two and flew? e.g. new and blue.
I know the sun has disappeared, however it is important the children get some fresh air for at least 10 – 15 minutes.
To get the children warmed up using a football they need to jog around the garden holding the ball in their hands. Whoever is working with the children whether this is a parent or an older sibling, they need to shout out the different body parts for them to put the ball in that position.
For example… Put the ball on your … HEAD and hold it for 1 2 3. Then jog around the garden again.
The body parts you could use are:-
Once the children are all warmed up we thought it would be a good idea for the children to show off their kicking skills. If you have any cones or an actual football net then this is brilliant. If you don’t have these resource then the children can use anything to mark off the goal such as:-
WOW! Nursery you are superstars!

Let us know how the children got on, we would love to know if they reached 10! Contactnursery@holbrook.coventry.sch.uk
