Terrific Tuesday

Enjoying Phonics

Today the children are joining in with phonics as they use my turn your turn. They are all recognising the pictures to the sounds. What superstars you are boys and girls.

Daily Exercise Dairy and Other Writing Activities.

The children have been busy taking part in their daily exercise dairies as the draw what they have chosen to do for their exercise. They have also been busy drawing their families improving on their drawing skills. Give yourself a rocket cheer … WHOOSH!

Obstacle course

As we are all learning about keeping fit, yesterday the children took part in some brilliant talking about their bike and scooters. So today’s challenge was to use their bike and scooters and create their own obstacle course. How clever nursery well done!

Number Hopscotch

Today in our number activity the children had to create their own number hopscotch and challenge themselves to recognise the different numbers as they jump on each of the numbers to 10. Fantastic work boys and girls.

DANCE DANCE DANCE!

Wow! Look at the children keeping active as they use the dance activity from KIDZ BOP and Miss Woodward’s routine. There has been lots of smiles sent to us as they enjoy dancing to the music.

It has definitely been a terrific Tuesday, we are so impressed with you children you are really joining in with the activities set on the blog. Keep it up and we will see you tomorrow.

Virtual BEST Assembly – 19th May

It is 2:30pm on a Tuesday, Mrs McCarthy’s favourite time of the week – BEST assembly.

Great news, 100 newly designed BEST Online Learner badges arrived yesterday so will be posted out later today with a special small certificate to all the award winners.

Normally proud mums and dads take pictures of their children holding their awards to show relatives who can’t be there. Well the teachers can’t see the children collecting their award so please email a picture so we can share it on the blog with others contactnursery@holbrookprimary.com

If mums and dads are happy for Mr Connolly to use the picture in a mini movie on social media please email him at challenge@holbrookprimary.com

Please let our award winners know how proud we are of them and give them a huge WELL DONE.

If your child didn’t get an award this week remind them to keep working hard with their home learning and maybe next time it will be them. But remember teachers can only give an award if they can see what your child has been learning so keep in contact with us and show us their great home learning.

Time to Dance

Today we going to keep fit by dancing, Miss Woodward’s favourite way to keep fit!

KIDZ BOP are going to teach you a dance routine so listen carefully nursery and follow the steps.

Miss Woodward has also been busy making her own dance up again, copy the dance moves and enjoy!

Send in your videos or pictures, contactnursery@holbrook.coventry.sch.uk

Talk About Numbers

Today we are going to play hopscotch, this is a good way to keep fit and count as you jump along the hopscotch.
Here is a video to help you create your own hopscotch. They do use chalk in this activity but if you haven’t got chalk then just like yesterday’s activity you can use paper.

If you want to challenge yourself a grown up or a sibling may want to shout out a number for you to find on your hopscotch. This is a good way to help you with your recognising numbers skills.

Have fun boys and girls, remember to count out loud as you jump.

Let’s Read

Today we are going to join in with some Phonics.

We would like you to encourage the children with my turn your turn.
Here is an example of my turn your turn, we use this in nursery to highly model RWI sounds or any new vocabulary.

My Turn … Your Turn

Now it is your turn, watch this video and whilst the video is playing can you join in with the sounds!
