Today we are going to make some very funny shells for Norman.

First you need to make a big Norman slug.

Can you help Norman find four different shells?

You can look in the garden, kitchen, your bedroom.

Now can you talk about what you have found.

Can you talk about how the objects feel like? (Are they :- hard, soft, smooth, bumpy or prickly)

Which shell do you think norman will like the best and why?

I have chosen a smooth painted stone which is very hard and heavy. I have also chosen a very bumpy fir cone that is much lighter. It feels rough to touch. My third shell is the bumpy beads they are small and smooth. My favourite shell is the whoopee cushion as it is very squashy and makes a funny noise.

The children took part in an I spy game with minibeasts today. This meant they had to listen carefully to the sounds they hear at the start of the words. What great listening boys and girls.

Wiggly Woo

Today the children have been talking about the wiggly worms. Some of the children went looking for their own worms, whereas some children just watched the video and spoke about the worms they saw. What amazing talking we have had.

Funky Fingers time

For funky fingers the children had to create a wiggly worm using pasta or beads and a pipe cleaner. They used their pinchy pinchy fingers to create their worm and then they made it look like it was wiggling into a spiral shape. Good job Nursery.

All about length.

Using spaghetti today the children had to use their imagination and think the spaghetti was a wiggly worm. They then had to measure the different sizes and order them correctly, some ordered them longest to shortest and some measured them shortest to longest. You have all done a fantastic job well done!

Busy Bees

They do like nice wet soil so you may find giving the soil a water helps them come up nearer the top.

Today is funky fingers to practice our pinch, pinch, pinch. First let’s get warmed up with Daddy finger.

Today we are making snail spirals or wiggly worms.

Use a pipe cleaner, wool or string to thread on your beads or pasta.

The smaller the pasta the harder it is to thread.

Once you have threaded on the beads or pasta can you wind it up to make a spiral or keep it long line a wiggly worm?

Keep pinch pinching and enjoy.

Nursery Rhyme Time

The nursery rhymes the children have been joining in with today are linked to our theme minibeasts. They have been thinking about the rhyming words today and the word they had to use was rain. We had some brilliant words well done nursery!

Making Snails

Today the children have been creative and have made some snails. These look fantastic boys and girls.

Five Garden Snails

The children have been focusing on their 1-1 counting today and have been remembering the total of snails they have counted. They also enjoyed Miss Woodward’s song to support them with the total recall. Give yourselves a fantastic!
